Frequently asked questions
How do I turn it on?
Click the sun icon in Chrome's toolbar (pin it from the puzzle-piece menu if you don't see it), choose a duration, and switch on Keep awake. The icon turns amber while it's active.
Does it change my computer's power settings?
No. It uses Chrome's built-in power API to temporarily ask the system to keep the display on. Your own settings are untouched and apply again as soon as you switch it off or the timer ends.
Does it work when Chrome is minimized or in another tab?
Yes. It works for the whole browser, not one tab, as long as Chrome is running. If you quit Chrome, the screen goes back to its normal sleep behaviour.
What happens if I restart Chrome?
An active session is resumed when Chrome starts again. Timed sessions continue with the time left, or end if their time already ran out.
Will it keep my laptop awake with the lid closed?
No. Closing the lid or pressing the power button still puts the computer to sleep. The extension only prevents sleep caused by inactivity.
Does it collect any data?

How do I remove it?
Right-click the sun icon and choose Remove from Chrome. Its stored settings are deleted with it.
